We all know too much is stress is bad for us. Most of us feel unwell in one way or another more often than we'd like. But in both cases, very few know why, or understand the relationship between them.

"Calming Chronic Stress" is a four-part series where, through a combination of teaching and coaching, you'll take away a whole new perspective on stress, experience the relief that comes with having a clearer understanding of what you're dealing with, and get on your way to feeling better—for your own good, and also for the greater good. We'll consider the effects of chronic stress with respect to both.

You'll learn:

  1. What stress is and how the stress response works   Appreciate your marvelous body-mind and some of the work it's always doing on your behalf. Review the different types of stressors, responses to them, and the physiological systems involved. Understand why we humans stress differently than other animals.
  2. When stress becomes a problem  Get valuable insights into why so many of us feel so stressed so much of the time. Why now? Why us? Learn how chronic stress causes all sorts of trouble beyond just feeling crummy, how it affects not just our lives but others' lives too, and why it's critical to go beyond treating only symptoms to address it at its roots.
  3. What you can do about it, Part 1   Discover the incredible power of your mind to effect changes in your body and why it's so important to wield it well. Get tools, practices, and more to help transform your experience of challenging times. Begin using your mind to support your mental and physical well-being.
  4. What you can do about it, Part 2   Cut through the confusion. Gain confidence in knowing how to effectively use nutrition and lifestyle to support your body before, during, and after the stress response and nurture overall health and resilience.  + Put it all together to craft a plan for integrating select changes into your life, for your own good and the greater good.
